Will RG III lead the Redskins to NFC East title in 2013?
Several great QBs introduced themselves to the NFL last year. Kaepernick, Wilson, Luck and Griffin (RG III). Depending on who you talk to, RG III is the best of the bunch, the worst of the four, or somewhere in the middle. Same goes for all of the others. What can’t be debated about RG III however, is his impact on the Redskins. A three time NFC offensive player of the week in his rookie year, RG III finished the season with the highest QB rating (102.4) ever recorded by a rookie. He also owns the highest TD/INT. ratio for a rookie (4:1). Most importantly, despite several injuries, RG III was able to start 15 of 16 regular season games and lead a 5-11 team from 2011 to a 10-6 record and a 2012 NFC East title. Was RG III a “7/8 Year Wonder”, or will he be able to last the entire season? If he does last, will that be enough to again propel the ‘Skins to 1st in the East? Information from the Washington Post and Wikipedia was used in this Jaw.
- The nickname RG3 was coined by a local sportscaster in Waco when Robert was in high school.
